So I imagine here that Rarity ran into ol' Steve while in Everfree, looking for a rare source of fabric/material for a new outfit she wants to make, and talked to him for a while, and learned that he is lonely and never gets any visitors. So, Rarity, being the generous pony she is, planned a day to visit Mr. Magnet. They meet in a clearing with a lovely, magical river that has a lovely view of Canterlot Castle, and chat about fashion and things. They get along pretty well, and Rarity finally feels that she has found someone that shares the same passion for fashion (I rhymed!) as she does. She is sure that this meeting with the fabulous sea serpent won't be her last.
Anyways, this is my fourth or so pony fanart picture, and I think it's a big improvement from my last one dulali.deviantart.com/art/Poni… Don't you think? Last time I made the mistake of taking away the lines. I did have black lines in that old picture, and they were really thick and didn't work, so I had no choice but to take them away. I should have used the self-trace line style from the start like they do in the show, and that's what I did in this piece ^^ I rather like how it turned out. It doesn't make the subjects in the picture stand out too much, but still puts them forth as the main subjects of the scene. I like that.

Awesome attention to details.
Me too! Whether it be just friends or a couple, I think they are a cool pair. They have a lot in common.
And the image itself is beautiful. I really like not just Rarity and Steven, but also the background (lovely!) and the details you put in, like Steven's earring. He really IS fabulous, isn't he.
Very much hope this won't be your last pony picture!
Yes! I think the same thing. They do have a lot in common, and from the first episode they really seemed to hit it off.
And thanks, this is one of my better drawings (with actual background lol) and I fashioned up Steve a little, with his bling and whatnot Cause I figured if they did have a date/meeting whatever, that they would dress nice, due to their fashionable inclinations.
I certainly hope as well that this isn't my last pony pic! I do hope to do more, the characters are indeed fun to draw.
Of course not! I would love to see you finish your picture. The more of the two, the merrier
Thanks ^^ Backgrounds arent my favorite thing to do, but I enjoy the effect of this one. Canterlot is a little weird to me to be there, it kind of sticks out too much to me, but I just couldn't leave the mountainside bare.
Not that folks can't enjoy their favorite fan duos/couples, but sometimes it feels like certain ones are a little *too* ingrained in people's minds/too popular to ignore, and it prevents them from considering how well some characters might actually interact with each other (be it platonic or romantic).
